FLYING

Airline Tickets

We strongly encourage you to purchase refundable airline tickets. Many circumstances can change an Airman's graduation date.

If you are flying to the San Antonio International Airport, you have a couple of options available to you for getting from the airport to Lackland AFB:

  1. You may use one of the nine national rental car providers whose offices are located on the lower foyer across from baggage claim. Prices will vary but expect to pay $40.00 (or more) per day for a midsize car.
  2. You may take a local taxi. From the airport to Lackland AFB is approximately 18 miles. You can expect to pay $40.00 (or more) for the trip in one direction.
  3. You may take the VIA Bus to stops near Lackland AFB. You may have to change buses a few times. Carry at least $5.00 per person but don't expect to spend that much money.
